The snowfall is not on the tea estates, but on the regions slightly higher up. The snowfall does not normally come into any garden, as the tea has been planted scientifically after study and snowfall is not good for tea. There has been some rain in the tea growing areas and the weather at the moment is moist and good and conducive for first flush production, scheduled to commence in March. However, it is much too cold at the moment to predict when cropping will start, which will only begin, once it warms up. So far all indications are for a normal first flush. However, the problem with the rain and snow at this time of the year, is that this could be followed by some hail, which is detrimental for the tea growing areas, as it harms and destroys the bushes. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hope this will not happen, as we have already had two bad years of first flush production and a third consecutive poor year, will be disastrous for the industry.

Sníh nepadá na zahradách, nýbrž ve výše položených oblastech. Na zahradách sníh obvykle nenapadne, neboť jsou vysázeny na základě vědecké studie. Sněhová pokrývka není pro čaj dobrá. V oblastech, kde se pěstuje čaj, jsme místy zaznamenali déšť; nyní je tam vlhké počasí, což je pro produkci prvních sklizní dobré a prospěšné. Se zahájením sklizně počítáme v březnu. Nyní je však ještě velmi chladno na to, abychom mohli předpovědět, kdy se přesně začne sklízet, což nastane, jakmile se oteplí. Prozatím vše směřuje k normální první sklizni. Déšť a sníh v tomto ročním období mohou být problematické tím, že po nich může následovat krupobití, což je pro oblasti s čajem zhoubné, protože kroupy ničí keře čajovníku. Takže držíme palce, aby se tohle nestalo. Už jsme měli dva špatné roky, co se týče prvních sklizní, a třetí následující rok by byl pro čajový průmysl pohromou.
